«International Museum Day»

«International Museum Day»
Today we celebrate all of us who love art International Museum Day. Every year since 1977, icom organizes the celebration of this day, a special day for society and that this year more than ever takes on special importance.
After a black year marked by the Pandemic, after many months in which museums have been forced to remain closed, they are once again putting their treasures at the service of the community.
In all this time we must give thanks to online art platforms such as «ArtQuid», which have allowed art to continue to flow. Numerous works have seen the light through these means, we have been able to continue enjoying art in its different versions and keep track of the artists that have most caught our attention. But above all it has served so that we artists have been able to maintain a close bond that would not have taken place otherwise. For this reason and because ArtQuid is also a museum, even if it is virtual, congratulations! Congratulations to all of you who make it possible every day for many people to maintain the illusion for art, let our imagination fly for a while while we enjoy the works, we become aware, we motivate ourselves, we develop a critical spirit towards ourselves and towards what we around us. In short, everything that museums offer us and that suppose their reason for existing: to procure a public good for society, which undoubtedly make them grow morally and spiritually.
In the us, museums are reopening, in cities like Washington many of them will be free today. In France they will open from tomorrow. In England they had been open for some time, still with limitations, and today they will also be free access… In most of the world, live and direct art is preparing to surprise again, to shake, to impact some visitors that for the moment they will access them with time restrictions and the number of visitors, in addition to the obligation to wear a mask and maintain social distance, but it is the beginning of normality that I hope will arrive soon. This year's motto says it all: «The future of museums: recover and reimagine».
