In Transitions No. 1, The figure never fully reveals itself.
Emerging from the painted surface, it appears suspended in a moment of passage — between what has been and what is about to become. The body is presence, but also intuition. Anatomical definition is built with control and precision, while the fabric and background give way to a freer, layered painterly approach, where the gesture remains visible. Form coexists with dissolution; accuracy with unpredictability. The work unfolds across multiple technical levels: A clearly defined figurative language enters into dialogue with material passages, subtle glazing, and gestural interventions that interrupt the continuity of the image. It is within this coexistence that the tension of the Transitions series takes shape. Executed in oil on canvas, the painting inaugurates the series and represents its initial point of balance, establishing Transitions No. 1 As a key work within the artist’s most recent research, presented on international platforms and in curated contexts.
