This original unmounted watercolor painting measures 15 by 22 inches.
It dates circa 1940-1950. It is signed, Nancy L. Hickman, lower right. It is painted on heavy watercolor paper and is in excellent condition. There are no stains, tears or restorations of any kind. The paper has the Arches, France watermark embossed in one corner. _____________________________________________________________ This is an original watercolor painting. It is not a giclee, print or copy of any kind. ______________________________________________________________________________ It was originally purchased as part of a collection of watercolor paintings amassed by a student of the well known, published and listed American artist, Robert Landry. The student's name was Nancy Louise Hickman. Robert Landry is a well known and listed mid 20th Century California artist whose original paintings have sold at auction and through galleries for years for prices ranging from a few hundred to thousands of dollars each. Even printed copies of his works are currently available online for a few hundred dollars each--but not from us-- we don't sell copies--we only sell one of a kind original paintings. Copies -although attractive --have no investment or resale potential- they are only worth what it costs to print up another one! The collection I purchased a few decades ago, consisted of signed and unsigned works by both Landry and Hickman most likely dating circa: 1940-1965. The entire collection of original watercolor paintings has been kept in secure storage for 40-50 years or more. Most of the paintings in the collection have never been exposed to light which has allowed the colors to remain as bright and vibrant as the day they were painted. This is unusual in vintage watercolors which tend to be faded from too much exposure to either light or heat. None of these paintings on paper have been mounted -so there are no acid mat mount issues either. These are all pristine, unmounted paintings ready to be mounted and displayed for the first time in half a century.
